How to Design Your Own Custom Hoodie or T-Shirt

Designing your own hoodie or t-shirt sounds like it should be complicated, but it really isn’t once you know the steps. Here’s exactly how it works, what it costs, and a few things worth knowing before you start.

Step 1: Pick your garment

Start by choosing the base piece. Fiorren’s Custom Studio currently covers three options: a t-shirt from £19.99, a hoodie from £28.99, or a sweatshirt from £24.99. All three are heavyweight cotton, so whichever you pick will hold up to regular wear and washing.

Step 2: Choose your colour and size

Once you’ve picked a garment, you’ll see the full range of colourways available for it, along with a size chart. If you’re between sizes or unsure how oversized fits should feel, check the size guide before locking anything in, since made-to-order pieces can’t be exchanged for a different size later.

Step 3: Add your design

This is the fun part. You can upload your own artwork, pick something from the design gallery, add custom text, or keep it blank for a plain piece in your chosen colour. If you’re uploading your own file, use a high-resolution PNG, ideally 300 DPI or higher, with a transparent background, so the print comes out sharp instead of blurry. You can print on the front only, the back only, or both sides for an extra £4. Print width goes up to 14 inches, which covers most designs comfortably. Every design is printed using DTF (direct-to-film), a method that keeps colours sharp and holds up well through repeated washing.

Step 4: Review and order

Before anything gets sent to print, you’ll see a full breakdown, garment, colour, size, print location, and total cost, so there are no surprises at checkout. Every order also gets a manual check from our print team before production starts, and you’ll get a confirmation once it’s approved.

Because everything is made to order, there’s no stock sitting around and no minimum order size, you can design one shirt for yourself or a few matching hoodies for a group. Orders typically ship within 1 to 2 business days once approved, and every piece comes with a 7-day return policy in case of a misprint.
